It's no Walker, Texas Walker but Lone Ranger will do...

I have to say I enjoyed watching the Lone Ranger. Critics lambasted(funny word there eh?) the film, but I thought it was fine. Maybe it was a bit too long. Buy hey,it had alot of action,humor, explosions, horses,masks, woman with a prosthetic leg shotgun(not kidding there jack)So I'm glad I went to watch it. Johnny Depp was superb as Tonto, and I think Arme Hammer did good as the Lone Ranger. His delivery was a bit hokey at times. I guess it was centered around Johnny Depp but I think enough attention was given to the Ranger. I had read a graphic novel that was published a few years ago, a retelling of sorts of the Lone Ranger, so I was curious to how it would be portrayed in modern day film The character has been around for a long time, so it was nice to see it reinvented and I believe this film did it right. Plus it was awesome to listen to the William Tell overture playing as the Lone Ranger and Tonto were chasing the bad guys. A delightful experience. Heh, heh delightful. Ah, I'm so funny.

World War Z was like a freight train!

I probably should have read the book before the film, but thats okay, I didn't read Cloud Atlas either before I watched it either. I thought World War Z was pretty good. Not much of a Brad Pitt fan. But I thought he did good as a UN ivestigator trying to find out what is causing the zombie strain that has impacted the world. I also like the action sequences involving the zombies when they would go into a frenzy. If your looking for a long dissertation on what constitutes a zombie or not (whether its the air, a virus etc.), DON'T look for it here. I don't care. As long as its entertaining than Hey, I'll watch it jack! Can't wait to read the book.

This is the end...Really?

Well, for a film that had alot of laughs, there were some parts that were just a waste of time. Like Jonah Hill getting demon possessed, and a ridiculous boy band performing at the end. So the film is basically a ridculous, albeit alot of times hilarious story about the ending of the world as we know it. All the actors in the film apparently play themselves, at numerous times they were referred to as Hey Seth Rogen, hey James Franco. Now mind you this film is just out to have fun. Alot of crude humor, so it may not be for everyone. To me alot of the funny parts were the reactions by Craig Robinson. Like his screaming, and just the one-liners he would say. All of the actors did that. Especially Danny Mcbride. Man, that guy just pulled out all the stops to be funny. So like I said, some parts were unnecessary and they didn't even make it more funnier. Like the old saying goes, sometimes less is more.

Man, why didn't Man of Steel have it at Denny's?

It was pretty interesting to see IHOP used extensively in Man of Steel. But you know(chewing from side to side) I aint gonna be here that long. Okay, enough of the inside jokes. Superman, oh exuse me, Man of Steel was pretty cool. However there are some kind of boring spots where his origin is talked about. I sort of get why they had to do that, considering this was ANOTHER reboot, but some of it was long-winded. The action scenes with Superman and General Zod(played by Micahel Shannon of Boardwalk Empire)and with his cronies were off the charts in my opinion. It felt like watching a video game as they crash through buildings, cars, warehouses, cows(not really) you name it Jack! Michael Shannon was a really good bad guy. But I also think they should have injested a little bit more humor in the film,it seems that Superman was kind of limited in his lines. Oh well. Like I said there are some slow parts, but when the action picks up you won't be disappointed...Jack!

Hangover 3: All they needed was the mayor...

That was an outside(or inside joke? eh..) joke if you will. Anyways the hijinks were aplenty in Hangover 3. This movie was too funny with the ridiculous chase scenes and the hilarious one-liners. Critics say that its nothing like the original with all the chase scenes and also that the actors were going through the motions. I don't think so. The banter was pretty entertaining. Zack G is funny as hell with his facial expressions, and so are Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper. Can't forget Mr. Chow,who for some reason has to always show frontal nudity in each of the films. Hahaha. There was even a shot of Shangrila man. I wish though there was more of John Goodman and Melissa Mccarthy in the film. Also there was some minor charcters from the first Hangover that I wish were in this one. The critics are wrong once again in their negative reviews of this film. There was alot of laughter in the theatre. Can't really compare with the first two films, which I don't think it should. It's funny. If you don't want to watch it, watch something else like the Great Crapsby. (yeah right, jack!)

A twist that makes sense...

Unlike the twist in Iron Man 3, the twist involving the main villain(Benedict Cumberbatch)in Stark Trek: Into darkness was on the money. I am not a Star Trek fan at all, but I have to say this movie was really good. It had plenty of humor, good action, and real good visual effects. It was pretty cool to see Judge Dredd in it without his mask as Dr. McCoy. He was funny with his weird metaphors. Weird is good though. But Cumberbatch showed what a real movie villian is like. He was cold, calculating, but he even was able to draw sympathy in one scene where you didn't think he could. I can't wait for the continuation of the Sherlock BBC series that he is part of. It will be interesting to see if they continue with this version of the Stark Trek franchise, but we shall see kuya.

Iron Lame?

Well, I'm going to give out alot of plot points from Iron Man 3, so if you don't want to continue reading, then go away. I thought the acting of Ben Kingsley as the villian Mandarin was excellent, but all that came out of that was that he was a drug addicted actor paid off by Aldrich Killian who is actually the Mandarin. What? Are you kidding me jack? Okay, I understand that its a twist, but all Killian did at the end was tell Tony Stark. "I am the Mandarin. I have always been." No explaination as to how, I mean there was some, but not enough. There was of course plenty of good action, and special effects, but also too much of that excruciating dialouge between Pepper and Tony. It was an alright movie, but nowhere near as good as The Avengers.
