Ah, let's see...

Well, it looks like this is becoming a once a year blog. Oh well. Recent films I have seen include Avengers 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road. Avengers was good, but not as great as the first one. Mad Max though was amazing. Especially the soundtrack. Acting was good. Some of the scenes were kind of absurd, but it didn't take anything away from the film. Will see how much it makes at the end of its run. Anyway maybe I shall put up another post soon...or not. Heh, heh, heh.

Its been awhile...

Been a long time since I wrote a post, I can't believe I have not wrote one since last year. Well, one film I liked was Son of God that was released a couple months ago. Although its not exactly word for word from the Bible, it was still I think, a good portrayal of Jesus. When I watched the film, that week I had gone through a horrible experience which tested my faith, and quite frankly still effects me today. But when I saw what Jesus went through, and the sacrifice He did for all people it puts life in perspective. I don't want to get into what happened and with anything I can look at myself and take my share of the blame in the situation. I will preface by saying I am a horrible Christian, but I do put my hope in Christ alone and I want to please Him. Most times I fail, but I will keep trying. Whether your a believer or not, I think films like this can, if anything make you be aware of how awesome God is.

Saving Mr. Banks...

Now I don't want to go on and on about how good a film is, but once in awhile you watch a film that just takes you away from all the crap in the world, in life, and just makes watching a film an enjoyable experience. The acting by Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson was superb. The film was about the dealings that Walt Disney(played by Hanks)had with PL Travers who write the book Mary Poppins, in turning her book into a film adaptation. Before I forget, Colin Farrell was amazing as well playing Travers father in flashback scenes. If you are looking for a film to watch during Christmas time this is the one.

Smaug, he alright

The Hobbit 2 was way better than the first one. It had lots of action this time around. The dragon played by Benedict Cumberbatch was beyond awesome. The facial features, the armor of the dragon were amazing to behold, Oh Smaug, the stupendous. Also the mountain lair where he sat with all the gold was cool to see. Of course there is going to be a third installment, but if its anything like this one then I can hardly wait. This is short but sweet review of a film. When something is good you don't need to expound on it.

Watching Thor 2 was about as good as mayhaw jelly, but not quite...

Thor: Dark World was a pretty good film to watch. I don't know why the film was panned so much by the critics. But I though it was fun to watch. Loki was excellent just like in the other films. The head of the dark elves played the "villain" role well. Even that girl from that lame Two broke girls show was watchable, well not really, just trying to be nice. Effects were amazing, and the story I thought was easy to follow along. Not much more I can add except to say that at least with some of the Marvel charcters like Thor, Captain America, the filmmakers have got it right. Just glad Robert Downey was not in this one at all, like in a cameo or something. However there is one surprise appearance that was done cleverly well. It was pretty hilarious jack. Well, I'm gone!

Escape plan? That means...Everybody get down!

What can you say about Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarrzenegger? They are too damn funny in this film. The lines that Arnold says are ridiculous. I was glad he was able to get a "get down!" line in there. So both he and Sly are convicts in a prison run by a corrput warden. The warden was played great by Jim Caviezel. At times he was over the top as a villain, but then he would be cold as ice. He did a good job. Stallone is an expert in getting out of prisons, he works for a security company going undercover to see what cracks and mistakes are in the prison system. Not to give anything away, but there are some pretty good twists in this one. You might expect it to be straight up action film, which mainly it was. But there was alot of humor thrown in as well. Sometimes unintentional, which makes it more funny. So go watch film!

It's all Gravity jack!

A film one in awhile deserves the hype, and you definitely get that with Gravity. Sandra Bullock is amazing as an astronaut who gets stranded in space along with George Clooney, who once again I have to admit did a pretty good in his role. You never know with him if he is going to be annoying or good when it comes to his films. Bullock was amazing in her role. She had humor, emotion, bravery. She just did an awesome job. Also lets not forget the effects. With all that space debris flying around, it looked like a freight train! The soundtrack was good too. All I got to say is Voy a beilar!
